Sue Sena

Senior Account Director

Sue is a founder, leader, coach, and marketer offering 25 years of philanthropic consulting and senior management experience to social impact organizations and nonprofits.

Sue’s direct marketing campaigns have been honored by her industry peers eight times in the direct mail, digital, and multi-channel categories. She coaches clients to tell powerful stories that increase revenue and expand their leadership and impact on the issues they care about. Sue has trained hundreds of development professionals, board members, and executives in direct marketing, building fundraising shops, creating individual donor pipelines, stewarding major donors, and developing board engagement in fundraising.

Prior to her work with fundraising agencies, Sue served for over a dozen years in senior positions in-house at nonprofits, centering her expertise in building fundraising programs for mental health, reproductive rights, human services, and social justice organizations like Fountain House, Planned Parenthood Federation of America, and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

Sue is the founder of the award-winning Swish Ally Fund at the Stonewall Community Foundation, the first donor advised fund created by LGBTIA+ allies, which invests in emerging organizations on the front lines of the movement for freedom and justice. Sue is a graduate of and coach with the leadership training programs of Landmark Worldwide and a graduate of Douglass College for Women and Rutgers University. She is a former New York City foster parent and the proud solo mom of a four-year-old daughter.
