With nearly 20 years of experience in the direct marketing space on both the nonprofit and agency sides, Bill returned to Avalon — one of many “boomerang Avalonians” — to lead multi-channel fundraising campaigns and delight clients with creative strategies, insightful program analysis, and an incredible depth of knowledge of the industry.
Bill first became fascinated with the skillful logic behind fundraising during a college internship at a nonprofit. He’s fueled by that initial spark to enhance every team he’s on and every project he touches. Bill’s previous agency work includes three years at Avalon in the early 2010s, managing strategy and production of successful direct mail, digital, and telemarketing campaigns; on the client side, he held roles in membership and development at both Common Cause and the American Constitution Society. Most recently, Bill worked for six years at MissionWired (formerly Chapman Cubine Allen + Hussey), where he helped raise more than $70 million for Democratic committees, museums, and conservation organizations.
Bill’s commitment to progressive causes shines through his entire career, from managing direct marketing programs for nonprofits committed to voting rights, equal representation, and progressive constitutional values to planning and producing national conferences. Bill’s well-rounded experience at the grassroots level up to major donor and board fundraising is an asset to colleagues and clients alike.
In his spare time, Bill enjoys spending time with his family and friends, catching a movie or a show at the theater, and enjoying all that D.C.’s parks and museums have to offer.
