Barbara Carey

Senior Account Director

With nearly a decade of direct marketing experience, Barbara joined the Avalon team in 2019 from the fundraising consulting side. As an account executive she helped design and implement multi-channel fundraising campaigns for progressive nonprofits through selection criteria, test strategies, and performance evaluation. She was instrumental to the budgeting process and managed all aspects of multi-channel campaigns to ensure quality control.

Barbara is also well-versed in list management and list selection, having previously worked as a list broker and providing detailed list recommendations to clients for direct mail acquisition campaigns. This involved conducting comprehensive list audits and analyzing industry trends and performance results to provide ongoing list recommendations for clients.

As an Avalon account director, Barbara is a key player in producing results-based, data-driven direct mail and telemarketing fundraising campaigns while maintaining the overall messaging goals of her clients. Her tremendous organizational skills and ability to multi-task serve her clients well as she implements their complex fundraising campaigns.

Barbara lives in Northern California, where her nonworking hours are spent in the great outdoors – hiking, paddleboarding, and playing in the yard with her dog.
